Gi Jiu Jistu Workshop with Justen Keating

Join us for a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar on March 24th at 12:00 pm, led by the experienced and dedicated coach, Justen Keating.

Justen is a former active duty Infantry Marine with multiple combat deployments in Iraq, and brings over a decade of expertise as an independent contractor with the CIA that lead clandestine protection operations in Central Asia and the Middle East. His journey into BJJ began in 2006, a pivotal moment following a challenging period. Initially exploring MMA and Nogi Jiu Jitsu, Justen’s path led to two amateur and one professional MMA fight. However, a neck injury prompted a hiatus from combat sports. After a rigorous physical rehabilitation, a turning point occurred in 2015 with the introduction of Gi Jiu Jitsu. The impact on mental health was profound, offering solace from PTSD.

Justen’s journey is marked by significant victories, including championships at the Texas Grand Prix across different categories, progressing from white to brown belt. Currently serving as the Head Kids Coach at Fayetteville BJJ in Arkansas and an adult coach, Justen is deeply passionate about sharing the transformative power of Jiu Jitsu on mental health, especially for veterans. With a genuine belief that Jiu Jitsu saved his life, the seminar goes beyond technical aspects to explore the profound mental health benefits. Justen currently trains under the guidance of Bebeto Oliveira, the 2021 No-Gi World Champion, the number four ranked light featherweight black belt, and one of the top 25 best black belts globally.

Justen’s seminar promises a unique and enriching experience. Join us to delve into De La Riva variations, half guard techniques, and gain valuable insights into the mental well-being aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from Coach Justen, a true practitioner and advocate of the art.
